Meeting Minutes Template

A fill-in Word document with attendees, decisions, actions and next steps already laid out. Duplicate it for each meeting and save it under the meeting name and date. This is the one I use, every meeting, without exception.

First Meeting Quick-Reference Checklist

A one-page PDF for your first minute-taking meeting: what to prepare, what to record, what you can safely leave out, and three sentences to have ready for the moment you miss something. Print it and keep it beside you.

Which one do you need?

If you have taken minutes before and just want the document, take the template and stop reading.

If this is your first time, take both. The checklist is for the hour you are in the room. The template is for the writing-up afterwards. They are meant to be used together.

Not a download, but keep them open

Two reference pages that do the job the templates cannot. The Minute Taker’s Phrasebook is the wording I use, grouped by what is happening in the room: decisions, actions, votes, declarations of interest, quoracy. The Glossary of Meeting Terms is the other half, forty-odd terms that turn up on an agenda without anybody explaining them.

Neither needs downloading. Leave the tab open while you write up.

More will be added in due course. If there is something you would find useful, tell me and I will have a look.
